We're No Different by ~LaurMaia:iconLaurMaia:

I am not used to this kind of forbidden love
And even though I’ve felt this before
With you, it’s totally new
I want to hold your hand
The feeling of your fingers linked through mine
But I’m afraid of the looks we’ll get
The harsh judgment that will pass
The attention I don’t want
I become uncomfortable with who I am
And I’m uncomfortable with you
And I wish it didn’t matter
Because we’re in love like everyone else
I want to be able to kiss you when we pass in the halls
When they’re doing it, they get high-fives and words of praise from their friends
And they don’t even seem to be in it for the right reasons
I don’t want to think about the scorn we’d face
If we attempted an act of PDA
How are we so different that our friends could hate us for who we love?
We are in love just like them
So why do we have to hide ourselves away
And allow them to rule our world?

The more tender side of those two weeks in December. I know I usually speak negatively about that time, but there was a softer side to it, too.
And if you don't know what the "two weeks in December" are, then you can probably figure it out from this poem.

Well said, and a constant wonder I face myself. :[
It's a very soft poem and I adore how you compare the likenesses.
Why should they be praised
and others be scorned
for doing the same thing?

Why thank you :D

I was hoping this might be able to let someone else know that they're not along

I have some theories... see, if you're going to be a in a "gay" relationship, then you have to really love the person to risk all the hate you're going to face... but in "straight" relationships, you can just hook-up with whoever because it'll make you look cooler. You don't even have to like the person, and I think that's how it is in a lot (but not all) cases.
Being bisexual, I get to see both sides of this.

i agree with ur point of view. its a shame that people are unreceptive to gay or bisexual people. I have a few gay friends so i understand what u say here.
btw what happened after the two weeks? did u guys break up coz people around u :?
:iconlaurmaia:
Yes, after the two weeks, I broke up with her. My mom really couldn't stand her, so I think that put the pressure on just a tad...
But in all honesty, she was a sucky girlfriend who was also a bitchy selfish whore of a person, to put it gently. Some people make the assumption that all gay/bisexual relationships are perfect and the people are going to be happy forever... not the case at all. It's just like any other relationship except you have to really like the person (at first, at least) to allow yourself to face all the possible hate.
